Building Isreali ties

The association holds great value in making social, scientific, economic, touristic, sports, culture, religion and personal contacts between the Hungarian and Israeli people and cherish them. We aim to establish twin city partnership with an Israeli town.

In the last 6 months we have gone though the details of 59 towns, where we assessed historical, economical, infrastructural, social, reachability factors. We unanimously voted on Tiberias.

Publishing

The friendship association has greatly supported the Soha többé Soá! foundation in publishing Leslie Blau's book: Bonyhád, a destroyed community in Hungarian. The premiere of the book took place in December 2008 in the town hall of Bonyhád.

Exhibition

A Holocaust exhibition took place in the Cultural Centre of Bonyhád for the 65th anniversary of the Shoa. This exhibition portrayed the European as well as the local Jewry's history and tragic fate. The Holocaust Memorial Centre and the Völgység museum greatly supported the arrangement of this event. The exhibiton portraying the deporting of the jews was guided by students.

Educational project

We would like to present the facts of the Shoa to the 12-19 year old students of Bonyhád and nearby towns, villages through interactive presentations, film screenings and history quizzes in close coordination with the schools.
